Advertising Research

The purpose of advertising is to reach a larger target audience to sell more product or service. The target market is a specific type of group that are consumers at which a product is aimed at. Advertising works in two ways, one works by reaching as many people as possible. The other way is by reaching a smaller audience but as many times as possible. Reach is the number of consumers that are influenced by the advert. Frequency is the number of times that the advert is being played. The agency spends the money on award shows which would be aired on TV. The USP is very important as it proves more value for money to customers who would be more towards other options. On the other hand there is a problem that the campaign would fail as it might not meet enough people not getting the message across to the amount of people that they had hoped and they also have to be careful of complaints. In the advertising industry they like complaints as it means that people are talking about it and it is being recognised however if they have to many it would be a good thing because the advert may have to stop being aired and they will lose a lot of money as the money they put towards the advert wont be used as no one would see it.
