The Praxinoscope is an animation device, the successor to the zoetrop. It was invented in France in 1877 by Charles-Emile Reynaud. Like the zoetrop, it used a strip of pictures placed around the inner surface of spinning the cylinder. Unlike the other devices i have looked at this is the only one that allows more than one person to look at it on at one time. How this devise works. This devise works by placing a circle filled with images which are slightly different to the one beofre making sure that the last image and the first image look simular but are not the same. The was that things works is the paper is placedon a round disc which is able to spin round, about this is a mirror this allows more people to see what is going on. when i made mine i done a sun that is setting and rising so we can watch the sun go up and down whilst it is spinning round. When the strings are twirled quickly between the fingers the two pictures appear to blend into one due to the persistence of vision. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yD0ovANHdqQ How to make it To make this I made piece of circled card and measured where the middle of it was because I done this I was able to put hole punches at either side of it. When that was done I drew a spider on one side and on the other side I made a cobweb. I put some colour on so it is easier to see, I put some separate string in either side of the holes and tied a knot, this allowed me to hold both sides of the circle and spin it really fast allowing us to see both of the pictures inside one another. By doing this I have created one picture instead of 2 different ones
