Sherlock, The blind banker

Main actors 1. Sherlock Holmes Male, he is the one who solves the mysteries, he is often a main target for the bad people. He thrives of off of the adrenaline. 2. John Watson Male, he is Sherlocks sidekick and takes the position of being hostage a lot of the time and in this episode he gets mistaken for being Sherlock putting himself and his girlfriend in danger. Although he gets put through all this he still stays with Sherlock and helps with the mysteries because he likes being part of something, he cares a lot more than Sherlock does and he likes looking at the injured and tells people what happened to them. This is because it makes him feel like things are “normal” and takes him back to the days he was in the army. 3. The pot lady – Soo Lin Yao Female Soo Lin Yao is a very important person in this episode, she is the sister of the person who is arranging for everyone who is being killed, towards the end of the episode she gets killed because she is helping sherlock solve the mystery and is letting out more than she is meant to. Does the episode follow a 3 act structure and/or a classican hollywood narrative? This episode does have a 3 act structure we know this because at the begining of the episo9dee they show how everything starts they begin to introduce how everythi8ng starts and beging to go into the actors. As we go through the episode we begin to see what causes the mayhem and the deaths and killings begin to happen and them at the end something happens,John and Sarah are kidnapped and Sherlock comes to save the day and we soon learn who is actually doing the killing however we do not see who is behind it all when the episode ends which is typical for a series, they do this so people watch on and keep watching the episodes How does binary opposition apply to this episode? This relates to this episode because there is a lot of scenes where they are questioning themselves and sometimes they are also questioning if they have gotten the right clue and they often realise they have done something wrong when they are half way to the place so they have to run to the right place leaving the audience in suspence as we wont know if they will get there on time so they weill put the audience on the edge of their seat watching on to see what happens. For example fo0r when John and Sarah gets kisnapped and Sherlock is somewhere on the streats trying to find clues it leaves us questioing and shouting to see is he will figure out that he is in the wrong place or is John and Sarah going to be killed Can Propp’s character types be applied to the narrative and if so, how do they help to shape the plot?
